After the ups and downs of Chinese steel pipe marketin 2008，industry structure changes are taking placequietly.Some enterprises with high-end oil and natural.gas pipes and high-pressure boiler tubes have not beenmuch offected in this storm，and won good marketdemand，while others with low-end products havebeen eliminated.It is expected that national out-put of weld pipe will approximately reach 23 mil-lion tons in 2008，a decrease of 2.5％ comparedwith 2007 and seamless pipe will approximatelyreach 20 million tons in 2008，an increase of 7.4％compared with 2007.Surge in export volume andtoo concentrated export market triggered by rela-tive surplus of production capacity have led to thefrequent trade remedy cases of the United States，Canada，the European Union，Russia and othermajor exporter of steel pipe，though our countryhas repeatedly adjusted export tax of varieties ofsteel pipe.This article focuses on the Chinese en-ergy industry on the demand for steel pipe types.
