At the invitation of the Bangladesh-China People’s Friendship Association (BCPFA), the Unity International Foundation of India (UIFI), the India-China Society and the Thai-Chinese Friendship Association (TCFA), from November 7 to 22, 2005, a CPAFFC delegation led by its Vice President Wang Yunze paid a visit to Bangladesh, India and Thailand, where they were accorded warm and friendly reception.
The BCPFA attached great importance to the CPAFFC delegation’s visit. BCPFA Secretary General Sikder accompanied the delegation throughout the visit. President of the BCPFA Anwarul Amin held a grand reception in honour of the delegation. The delegation paid an official call on former Bangladeshi President Hussein Muhammad Ershad and Minister for Water Resources Hafiz Uddin Ahmad. General Secretary of the Bangladeshi Communist Party (Bangladesher Samyabadi Dal) Dilip Barua entertained the delegation.
During its stay in India, the delegation visited New Delhi, Mumbai and Agra. Dr. Bhishma Narain Singh, president of the UIFI, held a reception in honour of the CPAFFC delegation and the Chinese local friendship delegation organized and sent by the CPAFFC. About 100 people attended the reception. The delegation visited the Gandhi Mausoleum, the Memorial of Mahatma Gandhi and the Parliament House. It paid an official call on the joint secretary of the Rajya Sabha (Upper House) of the Indian Parliament, and listened to his introduction of the Indian parliamentary system. In Mumbai the delegation paid a visit to the relatives of Dr. Kotnis.
During its visit in Thailand, the delegation experienced Thai people’s fraternal feelings towards the Chinese people. Sanguan Lewmanomont, secretary of the TCFA, accompanied the delegation throughout the visit. Korn Dabbransi, former deputy prime minister and president of the TCFA; General Chavalit Yongchaiyudh,former prime minister and president of the Thai-Chinese Economy and Culture Association; Dr. Ackaratorn Chularat, president of the Supreme Administrative Court; Pachara Yutidhammadamrong, attorney general and Nuttapash Amnuay Intuputi,president of the National Council on Social Welfare of Thailand, respectively met with and entertained the delegation. The delegation also met with Associate Professor Yupa,director of the Institute of East Asian Studies of the Thammsat University.
