At the invitation of Jean Germain, mayor of Tours and executive vice chairman of Central Region of France, a 25-member Chinese delegation of entrepreneurs from Liaoning, Zhejiang and Hunan led by Luo Qin, secretary general of the CPAFFC, attended the 85th Commodity Fair in Tours City from May 5 to 11.
The commodity fair made China its theme. Zhao Jinjun, Chinese ambassador to France, and Han Tiecheng, commercial counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in France, attended the opening ceremony of the commodity fair at which many Chinese products were displayed. In his speech at the opening ceremony, Luo Qin said that their visit brought Chinese peoples’ and entrepreneurs’ friendly sentiments to France. He hoped that in future friendly exchanges the two countries would strengthen economic cooperation between the entrepreneurs.
In the afternoon after the opening ceremony, Mayor Germain, Ambassador Zhao and Commercial Counsellor Han jointly presided over the China-France Economic and Trade Talks at the Conference Hall of Tours. Ambassador Zhao briefed the Chinese and French entrepreneurs on the important role of the CPAFFC in Sino-French friendly exchanges. He said, by participating in the fair, the Chinese entrepreneurs have done their bit for Sino-French economic exchanges. Commercial Counsellor Han gave a briefing about China’s economic policy and preferential treatment for foreign enterprises to invest in China. The entrepreneurs of the two countries had full discussions on the cooperation in some key projects such as building of grape wine brewery and car parts and accessories factories and sewage treatment. Both sides felt that they can cooperate in many projects and should further increase contacts and cooperation. On the following day, the Chinese entrepreneurs visited some enterprises and factories that would cooperate with China onthese key projects. The visit enhanced the Chinese entrepreneurs’ confidence in cooperation with enterprises in Tours.
Ambassador Zhao and his wife and CPAFFC Secretary General Luo Qin inaugurated the photo exhibition entitled Pictures of 108 Dragons taken by French famous photographer Yannlayma.
The delegation’s visit to France and contacts with Tours Municipal Government have helped expand the CPAFFC’s influence in France, enhance mutual understanding and friendship and lay a good foundation for future cooperation between the two sides. The French side provided exhibition stalls for the CPAFFC free of charge. About one hundred pieces of Chinese handicrafts including paper-cut of Peking Opera facial makeup, kites, etc were displayed. In their speeches Mayor Germain and Ambassador Zhao fully affirmed the role of the CPAFFC in economic exchanges. Mayor Germain said, the CPAFFC is a reliable partner. In the future they will have more cooperation with the CPAFFC. Ambassador Zhao said, the CPAFFC is a good channel for non-governmental friendly exchanges. French entrepreneurs can through the bridge of the CPAFFC conduct exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese entrepreneurs.
