The China Aviation Supplies Import Export Group Corporation(CASGC) signed a general purchaseagreement with Boeing to buy seventy B737-700/800 aircraft， the biggest purchase agree-ment in China's aviation history.

The agreement unfolded a promisingcooperation future between China and theUnited States in aviation and other fields.China's economy has developed rapidly inrecent years， so has the aviation industry.In the next five years， China will need moreaircraft， said Zhang Xiaoqiang， vice minis-ter of the National Development and Re-form Commission.

The purchase agreement will promoteSino-US economic and trade development.Since China bought the first Boeing aircraft B707 in the 1970s， the total Boeing aircraftbought so far reached 534， occupying twothirds of China's fleet， said Yang Guoqing，vice minister of the General Administrationof Civil Aviation ofChina.

In the next 20 years，China needs over 3，000 new aircraft， being one of thebiggest civil aviation markets in the world.In the past 33-year cooperation， Boeing hasbeen devoted to helping China's airlinecompanies in expanding their fleet and en-suring safety operation， said Robert Laird，vice president of the China Sales of BoeingCommercial Aircraft Company.

The catalog price of the aircraft pur-chase agreement was about 4 billion USdollars and the planes will be delivered toeight leading Chinese airline companiesbetween 2006 and 2008.

The Chinese airline companies are AirChina， China Southern Airlines， China East-ern Airlines， Shanghai Airlines， XiamenAirlines， Shandong Airlines， Hainan Air-lines and Shenzhen Airlines.

US Enda Pending Decisions over Chinese Texfile Imporfs Quofa

The U.S. government has ended allpending decisions to impose quo-tas on Chinese textile imports andlet go part of the goods blocked at the port，said the official website of the Ministry ofCommerce (MOFCOM).

The Committee for the Implementationof Textile Agreement of the U.S. (CITA)announced Wednesday at the local time thatall 24 requests made by US industry groupsfor quotas on China's textile imports hadbeen scrapped in light of the agreementsigned by the two governments two weeksago.

Those requests， put in from November2004 to October 2005， had been acceptedby CITA for further investigation.

China and the United States reached anagreement on the textile issue on Nov. 8 inLondon. According to the agreement， theU.S. will set quotas on 21 categories of Chinese textile products through 2008.

CITA has notified the U.S. Customs tolet go blocked textile goods except for socksthat reached the US port before November8， from November 28 to December 2.

As for other textile goods still blockedat the port， CITA saidthat they will be re-leased in batches according to US Customsregulations.

China to Raise ＄180 bln for Renewable Energy Projects

The Chinese government will raiseabout 180 billion US dollars to de-velop renewable energy from nowto 2020， said a senior official at the BeijingInternational Renewable EnergyConference.

By then， the share of renewable energyin primary energy consumption will standat 15%， rising from the current sevenpercent， said Zhang Guobao， vice ministerof the National Development and ReformCommission.

Renewable energy， including solar， windpower， and hydropower， will contribute tobetter energy security in China， said Zhang.It also delivers substantial economic and en-vironmental results， alleviating poverty.

In the coming 15 years， China will ac-tively develop biomass liquid fuel withcrops， said Zhang， to reach the capacity ofreplacing ten million tons of petroleumeach year.

China also plans to expand the heat col-lection area of solar heater to 300 million cu-bic meters by 2020， replacing about 40 mil-lion tons of standard coal annually.
