彼得兔的故事

小朋友們，你們讀過畢翠克絲·波特創作的小動物童話嗎？彼得兔、本杰明兔、格拉斯特市的小老鼠、平小豬、杰米瑪鴨子……這些故事風靡全球，版本無數，銷量以千萬計。在英語國家里，幾乎每個小孩都有過一兩本《彼得兔》或者《湯姆小貓》。如果你們沒有這些書，也不要哭鼻子哦，跟我來讀彼得兔的故事吧，不過，千萬小心，別笑疼了肚子！

從前有四只小兔子，它們名叫——耷拉、毛毛、棉尾巴和彼得。

它們和媽媽住在一堆沙丘里，在一棵巨杉樹的根下面。

Once upon a time there were four little rabbits， and their names were-Flopsy，MopsyCotton-tail and Peter.

They lived with their mother in a sand-bank， underneath the root of a very big fir-tree.

“現在，寶貝兒們，”一天早上，兔子老太太說，“你們可以去地里頭，去小路上，但是別去麥克格瑞革先生的園子里?！?/p>

“Now， my dears， ” said old Mrs.Rabbit one morning， “you may go into the fields or down the lane， but don’t go into Mr.McGregor’s garden.”

“你們的父親在那里出過事兒——他被麥克格瑞革先生放進了餡餅里?！?/p>

“Your father had an accident there; he was put in a pie by Mrs.McGregor.”

“出去吧，可別淘氣。我要出門了?！?/p>

“Now run along， and don’t get into mischief. I am going out.”

然后兔子老太太拿上籃子和傘，穿過樹林去了面包店。她買了一方黑面包和五個有葡萄干的小面包。

Then old Mrs. rabbit took a basket and her umbrella， and went through the wood to the baker’s. She bought a loaf of brown bread and five currant buns.

耷拉、毛毛和棉尾巴，都是聽話的兔寶寶，沿著小路去采黑莓。

Flopsy， Mopsy and Cotton-tail， who were good little bunnies， went down the lane to gather blackberries.

可是彼得，這個淘氣鬼，徑直朝麥克格瑞革先生的園子跑去，從大門下面硬擠了進去！

But Peter， who was very naughty， ran straight away to Mr.McGregor’s garden， and squeezed under the gate!

他先吃了一些萵苣葉子和法國豆，又吃了些小蘿卜。

First he ate some lettuces and some french beans; and then he ate some radishes.

然后，他覺得挺惡心，就去找洋芹菜。

And then， feeling rather sick， he went to look for some parsley.

然而，從黃瓜架子盡頭一拐過去，他碰到的不是麥克格瑞革先生還能是誰！

But round the end of a cucumber frame， whom should he meet but Mr.McGregor!
