This time two programs Burgeoning Cartoon Industry in China about China's flourishing cartoon industry and China's Dalian, Emergence of a Giant Agricultural Kingdom about the development of Dalian's eco-agriculture and fishery with international-level high quality and safety were filmed in China and planned to be broadcast synchronously throughout the world in December 2003. The Japanese cartoon industry that started early and developed fast has produced many world-famous cartoonists and works. The ROK, a neighboring country of Japan, was not content to lag behind and began to train cartoonists a few years ago. This trend gradually spread to China. Quite a few universities in Beijing have set up cartoon-related specialities. Many publishing companies also began to realize cartoon industry's market potential. Throughout the country people began to pay attention to this industry. The program filmed the Han Wei Group's chicken farm in the suburb of Dalian that produces 7 million eggs annually. At its start, this private enterprise had only 50 hens and a single-room farm. Aided and supported by the government in the past 20 years, the farm now has developed into the largest chicken farm in the world. During the interview Han Wei expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Dalian Municipal Government. It is owing to the government's policy of developing eco-agriculture and fostering private enterprises that the Han Wei Group and other private enterprises have been able to develop to such a large scale.
